목적어 뒤에 as 보어를 취하는 5형식 동사
regard A as B: A를 B로 간주하다 처럼 허사 as를 취하는 동사는 see, look upon, view, think of, consider, perceive, describe, define 등이 있다. 이중에 think of, consider은 ~ A as B 혹은 ~ A (to be) B 구조를 취한다.
We consider him as worthy of confidence.
(우리는 그를 신뢰할 만하다고 생각한다.)
= We consider him to be worthy of confidence.
= We consider him (to be) worthy of confidence.
Everyone wants to think of himself or herself as worthwhile and competent.
(모두가 그 또는 그녀 자신이 가치가 있고 유능하다고 여기고 싶어한다.)

→ think of, look upon 같은 타동사구가 수동태로 쓰일 때는 of나 upon을 생략하면 안 된다.

[해설] think of는 목적어 뒤에 as 또는 to be 보어를 취한다. think of A as B / think of A (to be) B, 둘 다 가능하기 때문에 문제의 경우 다르게 접근해야 한다. 앞 부분에 부사 too가 힌트이다. ‘너무 ~해서 ~할 수 없다’는 too ~ to 구문이므로 to be가 맞다.
