부분도치 (Partial Inversion)
글 전체가 아니라 인접한 두 성분만 도치되는 형태
접속사 as가 주절 뒤에서 the same의 뜻일 때
He was a vegetarian, as were most of his peers. [접속사 as 뒤 도치]
(그의 대부분의 동료들처럼 그는 채식주의자였다.)
She enjoys all kinds of music, as do I. [do: enjoy를 대신한 대동사]
(그녀는 나처럼 모든 종류의 음악을 좋아한다.)
→ as가 주절 뒤에서 the same의 뜻으로 쓰일 때는 as 앞에 일반적으로 콤마를 쓴다.
As in the last world cup, the result will be the same. [부사로 쓰인 as]
(마지막 월드컵에서처럼 결과는 같을 것이다.)
→ as가 부사로 쓰일 경우 다른 부사 앞, 또는 전치사로 시작되는 구 앞에 쓰인다. 다만 접속사가 아니므로 도치와는 무관하다.

1) so/such가 피수식어와 함께 문두로 이동한 경우 동사+주어 혹은 조동사+주어의 어순이 된다.
So busy is she that she has no time to write a letter.
= She is so busy that she has no time to write a letter.
(그녀는 너무 바빠서 편지를 쓸 시간이 없다.)
Such a noise did she make that the whole street could hear.
= She made such a noise that the whole street could hear.
(그녀가 그렇게 소란을 피워서 거리의 모든 이들이 들을 수 있었다.)
2) to such an extent, to such a degree, to such length 등 관용적인 용법의 전치사구가 문두에 위치할
경우 조동사+주어의 어순으로 도치된다.
To such an extent was he devoted to his school work that he gave up his change at a somewhat normal life.
→ 동사가 2어 동사인 수동태(be+p.p.)일 경우 be동사를 조동사로 여긴다.
= He was devoted to such an extent to his school work that he gave up his change at a somewhat normal life.
(그는 너무 학교 일에 전념해서 다소 평범한 인생을 바꿀 색다른 것을 포기했다.)
